1. Introduction

  • 1.1 Scope. All of court9 is covered by this privacy policy. However, it does not apply to entities that Court9 does not own or control, such as applications and websites using the court9 platform. By accessing or using Court9, you agree to our privacy policy outlined here.

2. Children’s Privacy

  • 2.1 Children under 13 years of age. If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register to Court9 or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we discover that personal information has been received from a child under age 13, we will delete this information immediately. If you believe that we might be storing information from a child under age 13, please contact us.
  • 2.2 Parental participation. For minors 13 years and older, we strongly recommend that parental permission is sought before sharing information about themselves on any internet website, which includes court9. 3. Information We Collect About You

  • 3.1 Information Provided by You:
    • 3.3.1 Information About Yourself. When you register to Court9 you provide us with a range of information including your name, email, address, gender, birth date, sporting interests and playing standard. We also give you the opportunity to connect with friends and to join up to clubs and ladders. You are also able to add a picture to your personal profile.
    • 3.3.2 Information Sharing. Sharing information about your sporting interests and activities is one of the key reasons why people use Court9. Examples include when you (i) upload content about a match you played in such as the result, pictures and comments, (ii) create a ladder for players to play in; and (iii) send people messages and activity requests.
    • 3.3.4 Transactional Information. There are some features on court9, such as managing a ladder consisting of more than 5 people, which users need to pay for. Those transactions are processed via Paypal, therefore you will need to have a PayPal account setup.
  • 3.2 Information we collect about your interaction with Court9:
    • 3.2.1 Information about your activity: We monitor some of the actions you make on Court9, such as adding friends, joining groups and ladders, and creating activities. We also might store and log when you shared content to us or to your friends, such as sharing a photo.
    • 3.2.2 Cookie Information. We use "cookies" (small pieces of data we store for a period of time on your computer, mobile device, etc) to make Court9 more user-friendly. For example, cookies are used to store your login ID (but never your password) to make it easier for you to login whenever you come back to Court9. You can remove or block cookies using your browser’s settings, but this may have an influence on your ability to use Court9 effectively.
    • 3.2.3 Browser Information. When you access Court9 from a computer, mobile phone, or other device, we may collect information from that device about your browser type, location, and IP address, as well as the pages you visit.
  • 3.3 Information we receive from other users. We may collect information about you from other Court9 users, such as when a friend tags you in a photo, adds your name to a match, or updates the result of a match you have been involved in.

4. Privacy of your information

  • 4.1 Information on your Profile Page. All information appearing on your profile can be viewed by all court9 users. We are currently exploring privacy settings, which may involve restricting the amount of information given to players who are not friends with you. If you have any feedback about privacy needs, please get in touch.
  • 4.2 Information Accessed through the Search Facility. In order to help people find new players, your details will show up in the search facility.
  • 4.3 Contact from other court9 users. Only your friends can send you messages and activity requests. Non-friends are not able to contact you until there is a mutual agreement of friendship. You will also be able to add your phone number shortly, which you have visible to your friends for the purposes of arranging matches.
  • 4.4 Gender and Birth Date. In addition to name and email address, we require you to provide your gender and birth date during the sign-up process. We ask for your date of birth to verify that you are 13 years of age or older. Therefore you cannot delete this information.
  • 4.5 Removing Information Shared by You. If you create an activity, such as a match, you can delete it providing the recipient(s) have not uploaded any content to it, such as a comment, photo and/or result. If content has been added, you can only suspend the activity. If you would like us to investigate the deletion of an activity after content has been added, contact us. The content you add to activities, such as results, photos and comments, will show up on your friends’ profile pages. You can only delete photos you have uploaded. If another user tags you in a photo, you can remove the tag. You also cannot delete comments you have made or messages you have sent.

5. How We Use Your Information

  • 5.1 To manage court9. We use the information we collect about you to provide and improve the services and features of court9.
  • 5.2 To contact you. We may contact you to inform you of new court9 features and services. If you prefer not to receive these emails, except for essential updates, please contact us.
  • 5.3 To enhance your profile and court9 experience. We may use information about you that we collect from other Court9 users to enhance your profile, such as displaying photos you have been tagged in. If you don’t want those photos to appear on your profile, we give you the ability to remove the tag.
  • 5.4 To make suggestions. We use your profile information and the relationships you form to make suggestions to you and other users you connect with on Court9.

6. How We Share Information

  • 6.1 When you invite a friend to join. When you ask us to invite a friend to join Court9, we will send your friend a message using your name. We may also send up to two reminders to them in your name. You can see who has been sent invitations and who has accepted invitations in the Players section. If your friend does not want us to keep their information, we will also remove it at their request.
  • 6.2 To help your friends find you. Your details will appear in the search facility, so that you and others can expand their network of players.
  • 6.3 Information given to Search Engines. So that people can find you easily, your profile name will be indexed by search engines. This will also be the case for club and ladder names.
  • 6.4 To provide you with services. We may provide information to service providers that help us bring you the services we offer. For example, we may use third parties to help host our website, send out email updates about Court9, remove repetitive information from our user lists, or provide search results or links. These service providers may have access to your personal information for use for a limited time, but when this occurs we implement reasonable contractual and technical protections to limit their use of that information to helping us provide the service.
  • 6.5 To respond to legal requests and prevent harm. We may disclose information pursuant to subpoenas, court orders, or other requests (including criminal and civil matters) if we have a good faith belief that the response is required by law.

7. How You Can Change or Remove Information Court9

  • 7.1 Editing your profile. You may change or remove your profile information at any time by going to your profile page and clicking “Account Settings”. Information will be updated immediately. The only information which you cannot change is your username.
  • 7.2 Deleting your account. If you want to stop using your Court9 account you may delete it. When you delete an account, your profile will be removed from your friends’ profiles and will not appear in the search facility. However, we save your profile information (connections, photos, etc.) in case you later decide to reactivate your account. If you want us to completely remove all information, please contact us.
  • 7.3 Limitations on account deletion. When you interact with Court9 or share information with your friends, such as creating an activity, uploading a photo, adding a result, making a comment or sending a message, this information will be retained in Court9. However, you also have the option of deleting photos you have uploaded and activities you have created that no one has added content to.
  • 7.4 Non-user contact information. If a user provides your email address to us, and you are not a Court9 user but you want us to delete your address, please contact us.

8. How We Protect Information

  • 8.1 Steps we take to keep your information secure. We keep your account information on a secured server behind a firewall. When you enter sensitive information (such as passwords), we encrypt that information for your security.
  • 8.2 Risks inherent in sharing information. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable; we cannot control the actions of other users; we cannot guarantee that only authorized persons will view your information; and we cannot ensure that information you share on Court9 will not become publicly available. However, you can reduce these risks by using security practices such as choosing a strong password, using different passwords for different services, and using up to date antivirus software.
